Armenian oral history programs in North America began in the 1960s as the generation of survivors of the Armenian Genocide diminished rapidly, taking with them their personal experiences and descriptions of a way of life that vanished with their expulsion from their homeland. At this conference focused on bearing witness, participants will explore various uses of the survivors’ oral histories as well as their own collections, plans for development, and possible access and distribution.
