Abdelfattah Abusrour is a playwright, poet, and founder of Al-Rowwad Cultural & Theatre Center in the Aida Refugee Camp, just outside of Bethlehem in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. A founding member, co-writer & actor of “Paris Nord Theater,” Dr. Abusrour abandoned a promising academic career in the sciences to share his knowledge of the arts with the children of Aida Camp, where he grew up. He will discuss how the children's theater has empowered young Palestinians on an educational and artistic level to resist the ugliness of the occupation through non-violence & with respect to human rights & values based on the spirit of social entrepreneurship & innovation.
