Massive creative accounting and unethical auditing are potential crisis that can lead into serious economic collapse. However, these wrongdoings still occur nowadays by crooked enterprise with subordinative accounting firms. Just like the Enron scandal in 2002 in the U.S., similar accounting fraud and immoral audit are still ongoing in South Korea. There is much debate on whether such an accounting fraud and audit failure are unpreventable. In this presentation, Mr. Gim will analyze the limitation of accounting methods and audit practices with multiple case, with suggesting some methods in solving these problems. Lecture will be in Korean. This event is exclusive to CKS Visiting Scholars, graduate/undergraduate students, and faculty.
