As part of its mission to promote innovative research and to stimulate scholarly exchange on Southeast Asia, the CSEAS organizes a Colloquium Series. The series provides a forum for the discussion of new work by Southeast Asia scholars, professionals, creative artists and activists. Our colloquium series events are posted online.
The CSEAS regularly hosts conferences, lectures, symposia, and workshops related to Southeast Asia. The proceedings from three of conferences have been, or will soon be, published as edited volumes. In recent years it has sponsored or co-sponsored more than ten such events, including:

The integrated UC library system is one of the most extensive in the world, with some thirteen million volumes, including about 150,000 in the Southeast Asia collections of UCLA and UC Berkeley. With help from the Luce Foundation and the CSEAS, since 1999 UCLA has started to build one of the finest Southeast Asia research collections in the country. It now has extensive vernacular holdings in Vietnamese, Indonesian, Tagalog and Thai. The library also has a specialist Southeast Asia Bibliographer/Cataloger, Ms. Jade Alburo.

The eScholarship Repository is a collaborative initiative of CSEAS and the UCLA Digital Library Program. The initial aim of the project is to compile an on-line selection of papers that were presented in the CSEAS Colloquium Series and Occassional Papers. The UCLA Digital Library Program is committed to supporting research and instruction by creating, managing and servicing digital content.
