This website says it is a free service from a company called Worldsun.com. The site indicates that it is designed specifically for individuals and small businesses. The website professes to offer profiles of thousands of attorneys and law firms throughout China. For many of these law firms, there is a Complete Lawyer Home Pages which the website says offers practical details on topics such as area of practice, professional credentials, fees, office hours, and directions. In the English version of the website, which is accessible from the Chinese version, there is a clickable button for obtaining this list of law firms and their web links. The website points out that the legal information offered online is consumer-oriented, but helps users of the site to better understand the law and choose quality legal representation. The website provides advice on how to select an attorney, an interactive "Ask a Lawyer" forum for submitting questions, explanations of 18 major areas of law, articles on current legal topics, links to legal resources on the web, and English and Chinese Versions of Laws and Regulations. The list of law firms provided is still small and should be considered a work-in-progress.

There are no additional details about these services on the website. Legal services are available in both English and Chinese. Although the website does not specifically say whether the firm serves both foreign and local businesses, it is likely that it does based on the languages in which the office provides services.

The website gives bilingual (Chinese and English) summaries on the same page for each of the pre-determined categories such as introduction to the firm, the director’s background, and  services offered. There is an online inquiry form which can be emailed to the firm. The information included in each pre-determined category is rather brief in comparison to some of the other legal websites listed here.

The website provides samples of contracts and forms, particularly those relating to trademarks and patents. There are online legal news resources offered. The website also has an online question and answer section pertaining to environmental law, intellectual property rights, and mainland law in general. There is an academic discussion forum available which applies closely to the interests of foreign enterprises (areas for discussion include company law, tax law, contract law, bankruptcy, real estate law, foreign investment, banking, and a miscellaneous section). The site offers access to an online book store and other legal publications. There is an online lawyers’ directory as well, which, like most of the other services requires a fee-based subscription.

The firm’s areas of expertise in intellectual property rights as related to China are copyrights, patents, trademarks, and enforcement. The website offers a good online overview of the legal details concerning these four areas as they apply to U.S. nationals doing business in China. The website is also well organized, informative, and provides summary legal explanations of intellectual property rights which is often not included on other web pages.
