Information:
To encourage international relationships that speak across
interdisciplinary and regional divides, graduate students from any field
of study are invited to share their experience, knowledge and research.
The theme of this year's conference offers panelists a venue to express,
recognize, define and question the many and varied socioeconomic,
cultural, political and environmental identities converging within and
around the geographical expanse of the Pacific and Asia. Conference
organizers request the presentation of recent or ongoing research that
explores emerging issues, opportunities and policy implications in the
region. Various research perspectives might include:
-
ideas,
images and the practices of nationalism
-
changing
approaches to culture and geography
-
community
based resource management
-
sustainable
processes of development
-
migrations,
diasporas and issues of security
-
art
and the visualization of identity politics
