In
commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the Tiananmen pro-democracy
movement, the Visual Artists Guild is sponsoring an art exhibition, "Art
and Democracy III," at the Los Angeles Angels Gate Cultural
Center from June 20, 2004 - August 8, 2004.

Recognizing
that ART is the most powerful vehicle for expression and that
DEMOCRACY deals with the Rights of Society as a whole, all artists,
using any media, are asked to submit works which express and
represent the human struggle for Freedom, Justice and Human
Rights for all members of Society.
Submission
Guidelines / Information:
Include
up to 10 images of works you are submitting for review. The file
name of each image should be the title of the work and artist
last name (title_lastname). Submit a written description of each
piece, including media, dimensions and an explanation of the
intent of the work and it's relation to the principles of Social
Liberties and Democracy. Also submit descriptions of performance
and/or installation pieces.
Selected pieces will be used in printed posters and flyers
for the exhibition as well as on the VAG website. Your
entry submittal
authorizes VAG to use images of your work as necessary for
this exhibition. Should your work be selected, we will
contact you
for a high-resolution digital file of your piece.

Only email submittals will be accepted. Submission deadline
is Friday,
May 14, 2004. Receipts of your en-mail entry should be no later
than 5pm PST that day.
