Calendar Conversion Help

Traditionally, Chinese noted the year by the reign title of the emperor and the year of
the reign. Beginning with the founding of the Republic of China in 1912, the ROC
used the same system with the word republic ("minguo") preceeding the year. This
system remains in use in Taiwan. In the People's Republic of China, the common era
    designation is used.
