1934 Admiral Okada Keisuke took over as Japanese prime minister.

1935 Du Zhongyuan, the editor of Xinsheng zhoukan (New Life Weekly), was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment for publishing an article derogatory to the Japanese emperor.
