This is a fine site and unlike many on the web includes source information for many of the images. Unfortunately, there are problems with romanization for some of the names.

Check out this site to see a wide range of calligraphy styles.
C-Span 1998
The cable network accompanied Pres. Clinton to China in 1998 and these 60 photographs are among those they took during the visit. These images are quite sharp.
Rita Hooks and Jeff Hooks -- China 1993
Rita and Jeff Hooks taught English in Baoji, Shaanxi province. This page has expandable thumbnail pictures of artifacts and scenes.
Port of Hong Kong
Part of the Hong Kong government's information office website, this photo collection offers views of one of the world's busiest ports.
Purdue University Multicultural Homepage: The Art of China
This is an excellent site offering high quality images from a range of Chinese arts and crafts.
Adrian Ross's Journey Across Asia
In 1994 Adrian Ross made a 40,000 kilometer journey from Russia through Asia and back to Europe. This site has photographs and stories for China and Tibet as well as other Asian regions.
Tian'anmen Square Democracy Movement Photographs
A joint effort by Support Democracy in China and Christus Rex et Redemptor Mundi, this photo archive is quite large, if slow loading.
World Art Treasures -- China
A dozen or so works of sculpture, bronze, and pottery are available here. These images and others available at the World Art Treasures site are provided by the Jacques-Edouard Berger Foundation. Excellent images.
Japan
Jim Breen's Ukiyo-e Gallery
A collection of woodblock prints in .gif format. This virtual collection is based in Australia.
Hans Olof Johansson's Guide to the Ukiyo-e Sites of the Internet
This is the guide to ukiyo-e on the internet. It offers clear annotations and a ukiyo-e FAQ section as well.
These images are from the 1995 work Japan Caught in Time and were taken during the 1870s by European and Japanese photographers.
Koryo Museum of Art
This site offers a range of art and detailed descriptions in Japanese. There's just enough English to permit non-Japanese readers to navigate through the exhibition halls.
Jamie Marconi's Collection
This is an extensive collection of photographs of Japanese sites, fairly well-categorized, but not always correctly identified. Marconi has also made an attempt to identify the source of each image.
Nara National Museum
This Japanese language site features many excellent images.
John Seaman's Japanpage Photographs
Mr. Seaman is a bilingual computer specialist. His photo gallery features many festival shots.
World Art Treasures -- Japan
A dozen or so works of art, primarily Buddhist sculptures. These images and others available at the World Art Treasures site are provided by the Jacques-Edouard Berger Foundation. These are excellent images.
Korea, North
United Nations photos
Yasushi Akashi, Under-secretary for Humanitarian Affairs, visited the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in June 1997 to learn about the famine there. This page has UN photos of some the sites examined.
