In Spring Quarter 2006, the Center for Near Eastern Studies and the Center for European and Eurasian Studies, together with the Department of Sociology, offer a series of public lectures on Muslim Diaspora Communities in Europe and North America.
Rima Berns-McGown (University of Toronto) is Affiliate Fellow at the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies. She is the author of Muslims in the Diaspora: The Somali Communities of London and Toronto (University of Toronto Press, 1999), and her articles include “Weaving Literature on the Loom of Authenticity.”
