CEES Funding Opportunities for UCLA Faculty
Funding
The Center for European and Eurasian Studies supports UCLA faculty and graduate student research through workshops, conferences, conference travel, speaker series, visiting scholars programs, and through dissertation research and language study grants. Priority is given to projects that focus on the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, new initiatives, and annual events in their first three years. However, all projects of serious academic merit that focus on Europe or Eurasia will be considered. Project descriptions must demonstrate how the project will advance our knowledge of European or Eurasian history, society, and/or culture.
GRANTS OFFERED TO UCLA FACULTY
Planning Workshops, Mini-Conferences, Speaker Series for UCLA Faculty

Proposals must include non-UCLA scholars, who are required to make a public presentation while at UCLA. Faculty submitting proposals are encouraged to seek additional travel allowances from CES at Columbia University. Proposals should consist of a 1-2 page project description, budget, and visitor's CV.
Application Deadlines: October 15 and March 1
Visiting Scholars Program for UCLA Faculty
UCLA faculty affiliated with CEES may invite visiting scholars to be hosted by their departments with CEES funds. The visiting scholars program supports week-long visits by scholars, normally resident in Europe or Eurasia, whose work is directly relevant to the study of Europe or Eurasia. Scholars with multi-disciplinary appeal are especially welcome. A maximum of $3,000 per visitor may be awarded to cover round-trip economy travel, hotel expenses, per diem, and an honorarium of up to $1,000. Visitors will be expected to engage in the following public events while at UCLA: a faculty workshop; a graduate student workshop; and a public lecture. Proposals should consist of a 1-2 page project description, budget, and visitor's CV.
