The Center for European and Russian Studies shares new scholarship on Europe and Russia with K-12 teachers through programs that combine academic enrichment and professional development opportunities. Funded through a Title VI NRC Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, our K-12 workshops include both presentations by university scholars and development sessions facilitated by certified K-12 education specialists.

Scholar-Teacher Workshop Series
In collaboration with the UCLA History-Geography Project, our center offers year-round Scholar-Teacher workshops for educators. Each session includes a presentation by a university scholar and hands-on pedagogical strategies presented by a classroom teacher.
Summer workshops incorporate multidisciplinary area studies approaches and offer analyses of major themes related to Europe and Russia, comparative and cross-regional perspectives, sessions dedicated to curriculum and resources, as well as field trips, film presentations, and cultural activities.
