Application Process Flowchart

The following eleven steps are required to submit an online application. This process will take 15 minutes of your time. Before beginning, please make sure you have available an electronic copy of your Statement of Purpose, a valid personal email address, and two names of faculty members who have agreed to write a letter of recommendation and their corresponding email addresses.
After the submission, you can return to your application form using your application ID, and make as many changes as you wish until 11:59pm February 29th, 2008.

  • Aural

  • Writing

Step 7: Completed Coursework

  • List courseworks towards degree completed
  • Have your official transcript sent to the Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies, 11282 Bunche Hall, 148703

Step 8: Research History

  • Describe research history and list titles of papers

Step 9: Other Fellowships

  • List all fellowships/scholarships received from the time of entry at UCLA, as well as other fellowships you are applying for this year.

Step 10: Itemized Budget

  • Itemized Budget for the Academic Year of 2007-2008

Step 11: References

  • The Names and Email addresses of TWO references
