Since 2013/2014 I have been working as a Museum Preparator and also Curatorial and Research Assistant for the PST:LALA exhibition Axé Bahia at the Fowler Museum at UCLA. This show opens September 24th with an opening party on the 23rd. Come celebrate with us!
I also design a line of jewelry by the name of Aull Things (https://www.etsy.com/shop/sculptra). I have always combined metals with nature in some way in my art making process. The venture into jewelry making began in January of 2013. As a transplant to Los Angeles from Texas, I have been fascinated by the flora in this state. There are so many woody objects to collect that fall from the trees. Each one is a piece of art in itself and I aim to draw out the visuality of the complexity of these items by adorning them with gold. My material is at my fingertips in my very own neighborhood and I like to think that using these otherwise forgotten bits of nature eases my impact on the environment.
