While At UCLA
Interned in the Public Programs department at Heal the Bay in Santa Monica, worked in the Special Collections Department at the Young Research Library.
Served two years in AmeriCorps, first in Washington State in local government in the Emergency Management Department, then in Monterey, CA as the Volunteer Program Manager for the environmental non-profit MEarth.
I am currently a dual degree student in the Maxwell School at Syracuse University (the top-ranked Public Affairs school in the nation), pursuing a Master of Public Administration as well as an M.A. in International Relations. I am doing so on a Robertson Foundation for Government Fellowship, a program that seeks to identify and support top graduate students with an interest in public service and international affairs.
Fondest Memory of UCLA
All of it! It is because of UCLA that I have been able to do the things I wanted to do both academically and professionally. The UCLA name carries weight no matter where you go, and it is your responsibility to be a good representative of the University community.
Advice for Current International Institute IDP Students
Go to office hours! Meet your professors and develop those professional connections that you will need whether you decide to pursue graduate studies or jump straight into the workforce.
Spend time with your peers and colleagues both in and out of class, these are the people you'll be working with in the future, and they can also serve as valuable collaborative and networking partners.
