LAI - Tinker Field Research Grants 2018

Grants for UCLA Doctoral and Master's students conducting pre-dissertation field research.

The Latin American Institute is pleased to announce the availability of research grants made possible by the Tinker Foundation.  These grants are for travel and field-related expenses for brief periods (not to exceed three months) of pre-dissertation field research in Latin America, defined here as the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of the region. Awards are open to students across all academic disciplines and graduate degree programs.

Required Documents: Academic Transcript, Resume/CV, Project Proposal (two pages), Itemized Budget, and two letters of recommendations.

Applicants must show in their grant proposal what specific activities they propose to undertake, how these are directly related to their project or thesis, or pre-dissertation research, and how the proposed activities will move the applicant forward in carrying out original research for a specific graduate degree.

It is expected that travel supported by these grants will be completed prior to the start of Fall Quarter 2018.
