Judge Carl Moor
Carl H. Moor has served as a Judge on the Los Angeles County Superior Court since January, 2014, following his appointment to the court by Governor Jerry Brown. He is currently assigned to the Family Law Division. Mr. Moor previously was a partner at the law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson in Los Angeles, California, where he specialized in government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, and complex commercial litigation. He earlier worked as a federal criminal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California; as litigation counsel at NBC, Inc.; as a litigator at the public interest law firm Hall & Phillips; and as a law clerk to the Honorable Mariana R. Pfaelzer on the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Moor received his B.A. with High Honors in Political Science (major) and Economics (minor) from Swarthmore College in 1983 and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1988. In 1986-87, he received a scholarship from the Henry Luce Foundation and spent ten months living in Tokyo, Japan where he worked in the constituent service and policy office of a group of members of the Lower and Upper Houses of the Japanese Diet.
