UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology is hosting...
The 5th Annual Korean Music Symposium, featuring a "Variation Method of Korean Vocal Gagok," by Professor Hanbum Suh (Dankook University); "Special Research: Kayagum Playing Methods," by Professor Joohee Hong (Suwon University); "Daegum and New Music," by Professor Jinok Lim (Suwon University).
Concert in Popper Theater features a chamber ensemble, kayagum ensemble, folk dances, folk songs, and Piri solo.
Symposium (Lecture-Demonstration) at 3PM-6PM in the Gamelan Room of Schoenberg Hall.
Performance at 7:30PM in the Popper Theater of Schoenberg Hall.
The Symposium and Concert are free, and open to the public.
