Pioneers of New Political Media in Korea: How Nakkomsu Became the #1 Podcast in the World

The satirical weekly podcast, “Naneun Kkomsuda,” or “I’m a Weasel,” focuses on current political, economic, and social events within South Korea. Its irreverent, yet penetrating, presentation and analysis of prevailing, and sometimes overlooked, issues have won over a legion of fans amongst the younger generation of South Koreans, resulting in the program being the most downloaded podcast in the News and Politics section on iTunes^® as of October 19^th in the world.

As pioneers of the new political media shaping South Korean politics, the four hosts of “Naneun Kkomsuda” are ideally situated to provide insights and stimulate discussions amongst students and scholars interested in the interplay between voter consumption of news and voting behavior, how the advent of social networking, blogs, and other avenues of information dissemination may or may not change the political landscape in Korea, or other more generalizable issues pertaining to the new media and politics.

For UCLA map and parking directions

To get to Dodd Hall, enter from Westholme Ave, and pull up to the Parking and Information Kiosk. The kiosk will be open from 11:30AM - 1:30PM only. Purchase an all-day parking permit and go into parking structure 2 (P2). Parking is available at $11.

After 1:30 PM, enter from Westholme Ave or Wyton Drive and you can park in the Pay by Space area. The price for Pay by Space area is based on how many hours you plan to park. To avoid receiving a parking violation ticket, you must display the permit on your car's dashboard.

Cost: This event is free. However, parking is not free.
