The UCLA Latin American Institute (LAI) is a vital regional, national, and international resource on Latin America. The LAI equips students with the information and skills required for understanding the vast and complex region of Latin America. The LAI's outreach programs extend its resources, knowledge, and research on Latin America to K-14 schools, students and teachers, as well as community organizations, business and media. An internship at the LAI will provide students with exposure to most recent research on Latin American studies via community and campus wide programming.
We are seeking interns that will assist in outreach, design, and event planning along with our short- and long-term projects and daily tasks.
Intern Responsibilities Include: event facilitation, graphic design, outreach research assistance, media application, editing, and other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications: Administrative skills, excellent communication skills, ability to use discretion with sensitive internal data, initiative and the ability to interact with all levels of the University community, attention to detail, ability to work under strict deadlines, flexibility towards changing workloads. Familiarity with Photoshop and iOS design is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred but not required
Hours Per Week: 10-12, flexible to academic commitments
Start/End Dates: Winter Quarter- 06/15/2018
Graduate/Undergraduate: Junior and Senior Undergraduates and Graduate students
