The 2014 Latin American Business Association Conference
Friday, February 28, 2014
1:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Korn Convocation Hall
UCLA Anderson School of Management
Over the last few decades, Latin America has made great advancements in both political and economic stability. The region is led by two global powerhouses, Brazil and Mexico, but emerging economies including Peru and Colombia are expected to continue to rise in the ranks of the global economy in the years to come. With this economic growth has come governmental challenges: between 2003 and 2011, 50 million Latin Americans joined the middle class. As the middle class grows, demands for better social services and more equitable policies will increase. Yet social and economic inequality persists throughout Latin America, presenting multifaceted issues for both domestic and foreign interests to consider.
The 2014 Latin American Business Conference will bring together respected leaders from multiple industries across Latin America to explore some of the critical economic and financial issues facing the region. The speakers will discuss particular industries as well as address the overall macroeconomic trends that must be considered when doing business in Latin America.
