A reading and Q&A session with the following young novelists:
-Cristhiano Aguiar won the Osman Lins award for his collection of short stories Ao lado do muro (2006).
-Vinicius Jatobá contributed short stories to the prose anthologies Cariocas and Cinema Utopia Revolução.
-Chico Mattoso was shortlisted for the Jabuti Prize for his first novel Longe de Ramiro (2007). Nunca vai embora (2011) is set in Havana.
-Katrina Dodson translated stories from Granta em português for the English edition. Her translations also appear in Passageways (2012).
-Saskia Vogel from Granta: The Magazine of New Writing will facilitate discussion after the reading.
Special Instructions
Parking Information: The closest parking lot is Structure #5. Visitors may purchase daily parking permits by stopping at the Information & Parking booths or by using a "Pay by Space" pay station. The closest information booth to Structure #5 is located on Hilgard and Westholme Ave. To use a Parking Pay Station: Simply drive to a self-service Pay Station location (there is one located in Structure #5). Please read the posted signs and screen prompts for Pay by Space. Pay Stations allow you to select the time you need to spend on campus and pay accordingly (all-day passes can also be purchased).
