Schedule and Costs for the BALSSI program.

Schedule

The 2007 BALSSI offers instruction in Elementary Estonian, Elementary Latvian, and Elementary Lithuanian. BALSSI language courses allow students to complete a full year of college language instruction during a single eight-week summer session. Classes begin on Monday, June 25, and conclude on Friday, August 17, 2007. Classes meet Monday through Friday, except on July 4.

Costs

Tuition is $147.00 per unit for undergrads, and $206.00 per unit for UC graduate students and visiting students. The registration fee is $53.00 for UC students, $300.00 for visiting students from inside the US and $600.00 for visiting international students. All students are also charged a $72.00 Instructional Enhancement Fee.

Fellowships

A limited number of Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships will be available to US citiziens or permanent residents who are accepted for enrollment or are enrolled in a graduate program. Students wishing to apply for fellowships should check at their home institutions. Pending funding, BALSSI may also offer non-FLAS financial aid to undergraduate and graduate students in the language courses.
