Developing a Research Base for the Heritage Field
Jason Rothman is assistant professor of Hispanic linguistics and language acquisition at the University of Iowa. His interests include generative approaches to language acquisition in a number of contexts (child L1, adult L2, L3/Ln and bilingualism) as well as sociolinguistic concepts to language and identity, especially in the context of Spanish in the US. Most recently, his interest has turned to the acquisition of heritage languages in the US (Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish).
