Second Heritage Language Summer Institute:
Developing a Research Base for the Heritage Field
Silvina Montrul is Associate Professor of Spanish, Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include linguistic and psycholinguistic approaches to adult second language acquisition and bilingualism, in particular syntax, semantics and morphology. She is also interested in first language attrition and has conducted extensive research with heritage language speakers and learners.
