Creation of Language-Specific Materials
This project will result in the creation of supplemental instructional materials, based on the generic framework, to be used in the adaptation of existing foreign language textbooks for heritage learners.
Years: Two through Four (2007-2010)
Project Director: María Carreira (California State University, Long Beach)
Project Evaluator: Joy Kreeft Peyton (Center for Applied Linguistics)
The materials will be designed so that they can form the foundation of heritage language textbooks for future projects.
Materials will be developed for two languages a year over three years, identified as strategically critical and in high demand by heritage students.
