Donna M. Brinton, Associate Director of UCLA’s Center for World Languages, is a lecturer in the Department of Applied Linguistics and TESL and Coordinator of the UCLA ESL Service Courses for matriculated students. Ms. Brinton teaches language education courses and has presented and published on a wide variety of TESOL-related topics, including the teaching of pronunciation and literature, curriculum/materials development, content-based instruction, ESP, and ESL teacher development. She has written numerous articles and co-authored several commercial English language textbooks. She has also co-authored and co-edited several teacher resource texts and served as co-editor of The CATESOL Journal. She is currently working in the area of heritage language education. Ms. Brinton has worked extensively as an English Language Specialist for the U.S. Department of State and has conducted short-term teacher education programs in Asia, South America, Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
