The Center for European and Russian Studies joins the BALSSI consortium.
Students interested in studying Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian will be pleased to learn that the UCLA Center for European and Russian Studies (CERS) has joined the consortium of universities that supports the Baltic Studies Summer Institute (BALSSI). BALSSI provides students and scholars with instruction in the language, culture and history of the Baltic States—Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
BALSSI is hosted each summer by a member of the consortium. This summer the institute will be hosted by the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and will run from June 10-August 2, 2002. Other members of the consortium are the University of Illinois-Chicago, Indiana University, the University of Iowa, the University of Michigan, the University of Texas-Austin, the University of Washington and the University of Wisconsin.
