The UCLA Film and Television Archive is internationally renowned for its pioneering efforts to preserve and showcase not only classic but current and innovative film and television.
The Archive provides ON-SITE (only) viewing access to many of its 200,000+ titles. These include Motion Pictures (silent era, Classic Hollywood, documentaries and newsreels, animated cartoons, foreign and contemporary American films); Television (American telecasting from 1946 to date); and over 100,000 News and Public Affairs Programs from 1970 to date. Materials on China include newsreels from the Hearst Metrotone news.
