
In search of experts and activists to work with Amnesty International's China Country Coordination Group.
Amnesty International USA is recruiting knowledgeable activists to work with out China Country Coordination Group or Cogroup. Human rights throughout China are always a concern, and the China cogroup needs assistance with their growing caseload of political prisoners, migrant workers, and prisoners of conscience.
As a Country Specialist, you can expect to work closely with fellow AIUSA members, as well as staff from the International Secretariat in London. Your work will be of utmost importance to the functioning of the China Cogroup, by providing indispensable advice and guidance to your Cogroup and AIUSA activists.
Country Specialists are unpaid volunteers who agree to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week for 2 years to their Cogroup's work. Although the position is unpaid, All related expenses are compensated.
Ideal candidates have in-country experience, an academic background related to China, a history of involvement with Amnesty International, and a working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese. Applicants also must be U.S. Residents who have never been a Chinese citizen.
