The UCLA Asia Institute 2008-2009 Graduate Student Fellowships

The Asia Institute manages four fellowship and grant programs for UCLA graduate students and faculty and one program for undergraduates. They are:

  1. UC Pacific Rim Research Program Mini-grants (PRRP)
    $3000 awards for graduate students and faculty. Deadline: February 15, 2008.
  2. UC Systemwide Pacific Rim Research Program, 2008 - 2009
    This program offers research grants to faculty, staff and graduate students. Last year, the program awarded three grants to UCLA students for projects that reach across national boundaries and bridge academic disciplines. Proposals must be submitted online through the program web site. Deadline: November 30, 2007.
  3. Asia Institute Graduate Student Fellowships, 2007-2008
    NEW DEADLINE APRIL 2 Two fellowships for UCLA graduate students of up to $7500 each.
  4. Hiroshi Wagatsuma Memorial Fund Fellowships, 2007-2008
    2007-2008 Graduate Fellowships and Faculty Grants. NEW DEADLINE MONDAY APRIL 2!
  5. FLAS National Resource Fellowships for East Asia 2007-2008
    UCLA graduate students are invited to apply for this award through their departments or schools. The award is primarily intended to assist students as they strengthen their Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language skills. Deadline: Department/School Nominations by February 23, 2007.
  6. Pre-dissertation Grants for Study at East China Normal University, Shanghai
    UCLA Asia Institute announces three pre-dissertation fellowships at East China Normal University for UCLA graduate students
