Tracy is a PhD student in Art History, working under the advisement of Professor Saloni Mathur. She received her BA in Anthropology and Humanities from the University of Northern Iowa, an MA in South Asian Cultures and Languages from The University of Texas at Austin, and an MA in Museology from the University of Washington, Seattle. Her academic interests are in modern and contemporary India, and more particularly in modern-period design, urban planning, and architecture. Recent research has focused on the works of Le Corbusier and Yona Freidman in India, and on the politics of museum display in South Asia. Her past research has focused on the National Museum of India and art historical narratives as they relate to nationalism and Indian Independence.
Tracy is proficient in Hindi and Urdu and has studied Sanskrit and French, and is a frequent contributor to www. SaffronArt.com. She was worked in the curatorial and collections departments of several art and history museums in Seattle and Los Angeles, and is currently serving as a curator at the Fowler Museum at UCLA.
