Tom Rimer, held the Terasaki Chair from 2005-2008 after teaching Japanese literature, theatre and art for many years at the University of Pittsburgh. While at UCLA, he was a member of the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures and taught an undergraduate seminar on “The Tale of the Heike” – Japan’s Answer to The Odyssey(Japanese 191A Variable Topics Seminar: Classical Japan, T/R 11-12:15).
