UCLA's Operation Armenia has been providing infrastructure support and long-term humanitarian aid along with immediate medical disaster relief to Artsakh and Armenia.
As part of UCLA’s Operation Armenia initiative, The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health (https: //ph.ucla.edu/) is collaborating with the American University of Armenia Turpanjian School of Public Health (https: //sph.aua.am/) in designing and leading the National Contact Tracing Program for the Republic of Armenia.
UCLA and AUA began this project early on in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and have since been working with Armenia's Ministry of Health (https: //www.moh.am/) and National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (https: //ncdc.am/) to rapidly and effectively train hundreds of individuals in contact tracing and case investigation. Numerous trainings have already taken place featuring didactic presentations and interactive skill-building workshops. The UCLA and AUA teams aim to continue to scale up this program to help combat the current COVID-19 pandemic as well as build sustainable systems to ensure the health and safety of the population and prepare the country for a resilient future.
