In the strongest possible terms, the UCLA Promise Armenian Institute (https: //www.international.ucla.edu/armenia/welcome) and the UCLA Promise Institute for Human Rights (https: //promiseinstitute.law.ucla.edu/) condemn today’s (September 19, 2023) military attacks by Azerbaijan on the Armenian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh/Artsakh, coming nearly 300 days after their blockade of the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia with NK/A and the resulting humanitarian crisis. The blockade has been described by experts as a run-up to a genocide against the indigenous Armenian population (https: //luismorenoocampo.com/lmo_en/report-armenia/), and now, today, the world is witnessing the accomplishment of that goal by Azerbaijan, threatening to destroy a region populated by Armenians for over two millennia.
