 Dr. Abraham Terian is Professor Emeritus of Armenian theology and patristics at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, Armonk, New York. His publications include The Festal Works of St. Gregory of Narek (2016) and From the Depths of the Heart: Annotated Translation of the Prayers of St. Gregory of Narek (2021), both of which won NAASR’s Dr. Sona Aronian Book Prize for Excellence in Armenian Studies. Other recent works are Moralia et Ascetica Armeniaca: The Oft-Repeated Discourses (2022) and The Life of Mashtots' by his Disciple Koriwn (2022).

 

Dr. S. Peter Cowe is the Narekatsi Distinguished Professor of Armenian Studies and Director of the Center for World Languages at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research interests include Late Antique and medieval Armenian intellectual history, the Armenian kingdom and state formation across the medieval Mediterranean, Muslim-Christian dialogue, and modern Armenian nationalism.

 

 

 

 This program will also feature a musical presentation by acclaimed composer and pianist Vatché Mankerian.
