The launch will introduce a book that explores sibod, a local ideology found in the music and dance expressions of the binanog, a hawk-eagle tradition of the Panay Bukidnon, Philippines. The ideology constitutes the workings of music/dance structures, play, synchronization, recovery from error, and flow as a manifestation of mastering music and dance. Achieving sibod in music-making and dancing connects people not only with their fellowmen but also with their medic-spirit alliances. This ideology is integrated in their day-to-day dealings as well as in negotiations with government and nongovernment bodies, publicly articulating pa-sibod-(d)a! (produce sibod) for communal harmony.
