Enter the 2022 Online Korean Poetry Recitation Contest hosted by the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) and the King Sejong Institute Center, USA (KSICUSA) in commemoration of the 576th anniversary of Hangul Day!

To commemorate the 576th Anniversary of Hangul Day (October 9, 2022), the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) and the King Sejong Institute Center, USA are pleased to announce this year’s Online Korean Poetry Recitation Contest, which will be in the form of an original video submission.

The competition will be divided into Introductory/Basic and Intermediate/Advanced levels. Contestants must submit video entries by 11:59 PM (PDT) on Sunday, September 25, 2022 through e-mail to speechcontest@kccla.org with the completed consent and release form. It should be submitted in MP4 format ONLY. The theme may be on any topic of choice related to the Korean language or culture. 

Award Certificated issued by the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) will be given to grand, first, and second place winners. The prize allotment may subject to change without notice. The total number of prized awarded may be adjusted, depending on the total number of valid submissions. A small souvenir gift will be sent to each valid participant who does not win one of the major awards or a Korean Culture Award. Click on this link to more about the awards and prizes!

To enter the contest, you must be a US resident and at least 18 years of age on date of submission or any Korean learner in the US (including King Sejong Institute students, college students, and the general public), whose native language IS NOT Korean. 

•  Submission period: August 22- September 25, 2022 (PDT)
•  Evaluation period: September 27 - October 1, 2022 (PDT)
• Announcement of winners: October 4, 2022 ((http://www.kccla.org and https://www.ksicusa.com)
• Online awards ceremony: 17:30 (PDT) on Thursday, October 6, 2022
