Martin Hockey is a senior Political Science and Global Studies major at UCLA. He is especially focused on exploring the effects of regional and international relations on Middle Eastern political movements. Martin is also a member of the UCLA College Honors Program, Hooligan Theatre Company, UCLA Ski and Snowboard team, and a tutor for Ignite Tutoring LA. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer and Catan with his friends and family.

Martin is a contributor to CMED's blog The Middle Easterner. His recent article "Saudi-Iran Negotiations Have Made Steady Progress; Why is this Happening Now?" considers which recent events have primed the fragile rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran that has developed over the past year.
