Susan Bauckus is the managing editor of the Heritage Language Journal.

Sara Beaudrie is a Ph.D. candidate in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Program (SLAT) at the University of Arizona and teaches Spanish heritage language learners at the university. Her research interests include Spanish Heritage Language Education, Teacher Development, CALL and Spanish phonological acquisition.

Evelyn Canabal is the Chair of the Modern Languages Department at Madeira School, VA. Dr. Canabal designed and coordinated the Heritage language program at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she also taught courses in Spanish language at all levels and Latin American literatures and cultures. Kiyomi Chinen is a lecturer at the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at University of California, Irvine. She has a doctorate in Second Language Acquisition. Her main areas of research are social psychology, heritage language, and immersion programs.

Masako O. Douglas is an assistant professor at California State University, Long Beach. Her research interests are Japanese heritage language acquisition by children, which includes oral development and acquisition of bi-literacy skills, and heritage language pedagogy. She developed Japanese language courses for heritage learners at college levels and has been developing a curriculum for Japanese heritage language schools. She is a coordinator of Japanese Heritage Language SIG.

Cynthia Ducar is a Ph.D. candidate in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Program (SLAT) at the University of Arizona, and a teaching associate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Her research interests include Spanish Heritage Learners, Critical Discourse Analysis and Spanish Sociolinguistics.

Manel Lacorte is Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Maryland, where he directs the Spanish Language Program and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish applied linguistics, and language teacher education. Orlando R. Kelm is Associate Professor of Hispanic Linguistics in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Texas at Austin. His professional interests include language for special purposes, such as Business Spanish and Business Portuguese. His current research focuses on the creation of task-based instruction, including the use of video in language instruction. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Business Language Programs for the Center for International Business Education and Research at UT, Austin. Dr. Kelm may be reached at .

G. Richard Tucker is Paul Mellon Professor of Applied Linguistics and Head of the Modern Languages Department at Carnegie Mellon University. He served as President of the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC from 1978 to 1991, and as Professor of Psychology and Linguistics at McGill University from 1969 to 1978. He has published more than 200 books, articles, or reviews concerning diverse aspects of second language learning and teaching.
