Established in 1991, the UCLA Terasaki Center has been a platform for research on Japan. Our distinguished faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scholars, and the board of advisors have been contributing to the field of Japanese studies for over 20 years.

The Terasaki Center sponsors a vast array of events throughout the year. With its colloquium series, the Center brings academics from diverse fields to UCLA each year. Special workshops and annual conferences bring leading scholars to discuss topics relating to Japan.

News — The University of Tokyo Summer Internship Program

The UCLA Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies is offering a scholarship opportunity for one UCLA undergraduate student to participate in UTSIP, a summer internship program with the University of Tokyo.

The UCLA Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies is excited to announce a new opportunity for undergraduate students at UCLA who are interested in participating in internship program in Japan.

As part of the newly established Terasaki Centennial Scholars Endowment, the UCLA Terasaki Center will provide airfare for one UCLA undergraduate student to travel to Japan for the program. All program costs, including housing, will be covered by the University of Tokyo.

Applications will be available from late November and must be submitted by January 4, 2018. More information can be found at the UTSIP website here.
