POLITICAL ECONOMY OF ASIA'S MONETARY AND FINANCIAL LANDSCAPE

"The main objective of this one-day workshop is to discuss fundamental dynamics and new developments of monetary and financial relations between Japan and East Asia ranging from RMB internationalization, emergency funding mechanism, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Thematically, we seek to understand; (a) lessons from other regions, particularly Europe, to Asia, (b) connections between global financial governance and the regional one, and (c) explore the issues of financial leadership and followership in the region. This event is co-sponsored by the USC Center for International Relations and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
