Rumble60 Day 1

Every June since 2008, Rumble has illustrated UCLA AUD's stake in design innovation and public engagement, offering a direct tap into the pipeline of architecture's tomorrow.

UCLA Architecture and Urban Design (UCLA AUD) invites you to Rumble60, on view Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9. Marking UCLA AUD’s 60 anniversary, Rumble60 expands into an immersive celebration that bridges interests, industries, and generations, bringing together hundreds of architects, designers, and civic and cultural leaders to celebrate AUD’s legacy and see what the future of architecture and urban design may hold.

Every June since 2008, Rumble has illustrated UCLA AUD’s stake in design innovation and public engagement, offering a direct tap into the pipeline of architecture’s tomorrow. This year, Rumble also marks the close of UCLA AUD’s AUD60 programming, honoring the institution’s six-decade history of shaping architectural advances and discourse.

Energizing this milestone, Rumble60 features two special programs:

Join us Tuesday, June 9, 2:00 to 6:15 pm for our Rumble60 PechaKucha “You See LA: Visions of Los Angeles,” bringing together leading thinkers to share their visions for the future of Los Angeles, using the PechaKucha format as a laboratory for testing ideas and exploring new possibilities.

And throughout Rumble60, check out “AUD People and Places: 60 Years of Stories,” a special exhibition of projects from across AUD’s global alumni community, curated by Professor Georgina Huljich (March ‘03).

The program for Rumble60 appears below. All events are free and open to the public. And, browse our Rumble 2025 photo gallery for a glimpse of last year's event.

"AUD People and Places: 60 Years of Stories" traces the evolving interests, practices, and contributions of AUD alumni while also assembling a visual record of the department’s institutional life. Individual submissions function as fragments of a larger collective archive. By bringing alumni work back into the spaces of the school, "AUD People and Places" reflects on the continuity between education, practice, and disciplinary discourse, while documenting the ongoing influence of UCLA Architecture and Urban Design across the profession and beyond.
