Aaron David Miller is the Vice-President of New Initiatives & Distinguished Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in D.C. He has served in various positions involving US Policy in the Middle East, received awards, written several books, and has appeared widely in major media sources and publications:
*Adviser to Republican & Democratic Secretaries of State for two decades, Senior Adviser for Arab- Israeli negotiations, Senior Member of the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff in the Bureau of Intelligence & Research & in the Office of the Historian. He has also received the Department’s Distinguished, Superior, and Meritorious Honor Awards.
*Mr. Miller has written four books on the Middle East, most recently The Much Too Promised Land: America’s Elusive Search for Arab-Israeli Peace (Bantam, 2008).
*Mr. Miller has lectured widely at universities & Middle East symposia across the country & appears frequently on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NPR, & BBC; his articles have appeared in newspapers, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and the International Herald Tribune. His weekly column Reality Check appears in Foreign Policy Magazine.
