Center welcomes visiting scholar Professor Hagit Lavsky
The Younes & Soraya Nazarian Center for Israel Studies is pleased to welcome Professor Hagit Lavsky as Visiting Scholar for Winter and Spring quarters of 2011.

Hagit Lavsky is Professor Emerita at the Avraham Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she held the Samuel L. and Perry Haber Chair of Post-Holocaust Studies, and was Director of the Bernard Cherrick Center for the Study of Zionism, the Yishuv and the State of Israel. She is the author of numerous books, including Before Catastrophe: The Distinctive Path of German Zionism (1996) and New Beginnings: Holocaust Survivors in Bergen-Belsen and the British Zone in Germany, 1945–1950 (2002).
Professor Lavsky will be offering three classes during her residency at UCLA.
