Business Language and Culture in China

People knowledgeable about China's recent economic developments with an understanding of Chinese language and culture for business are in great demand. This program focuses on the economic framework of international trade while studying Chinese and learning about business culture in China. There will be several business and factory site visits. Sample site visits include: Bao Steel, General Motors in Shanghai, the Shanghai City Planning Museum, and others.
UCLA students are required to successfully complete Economics 101 prior to the start of this program. Students from other institutions should have taken substantial lower division Economics coursework; it is especially important that students demonstrate they have completed intermediate micro-economic theory courses prior to participating in the program.
This program ends with a 3 day excursion to Beijing. Beijing is where the program will conclude.
