The sequence is designed to accommodate students with Title VI Fellowships, as well as
those who want to achieve a better proficiency in Turkish for academic or non-academic
reasons. For students wishing to receive 3rd year credit, the course is listed as TURK
30101-30102-30103. To accommodate students who have already taken a different Third
Year Level sequence at the University of Chicago or elsewhere, or, for students who have
completed 1st year Turkish with distinction and are able to place into a high intermediate
level, this summer intensive class is also cross-listed as NELG 30101-30102-30103.
FLAS Fellows at whatever level must register for all three courses within either one of
these sequence number series. The course will be taught by M. Zahit Atçıl (Part I) and A.
Tunç Şen (Parts II & III), both Ph. D. candidates at the University of Chicago.
