Yangguanzhai is located in the Jing River Valley, near Xi’an, in northwestern China. This site has been designated as one of China's "Most Important Archaeology Finds of 2008." Located in the central area of the Yangshao Culture’s Miaodigou Phase, Yangguanzhai will provide essential information to our knowledge of Neolithic settlement, social organization, economic, and perhaps ritual

This field school is a collaborative project between the Institute for Field Research, the Shaanxi Archaeological Academy and Xibei University in Xi’an, China, and California State University Northridge.
