Eligibility
Applicants must be doctoral candidates, in humanities or social sciences, with an approved dissertation prospectus. Enrollment at a university in the United States or Canada required.
Stipend
Scholarships are in the amount of $5,000. A special award to the top applicant will be made, in the total amount of $10,000. Awards are on a basis of scholarly merit, irrespective of academic discipline, race, or nationality.
Deadline
June 30, 2006. Awards will be announced in October 2006.

Applicants must send a completed application form, curriculum vita, official transcript of graduate course work, reprints of publications (if any), and a project description in English and Chinese.
